Clow Group Ltd. competitively tendered and were awarded the contract to design, manufacture, install and commission the roof access system at the new Leeds Train Station.
The contract was awarded to two main contractors, namely Birse Rail Ltd. and Wates Construction Ltd.
The contracts for the works were issued in October 1999 and totaled £245 million.
Clow Group Ltd. worked in partnership with Railtrack and the main contractor; Wates Construction Ltd. to develop a safe means of accessing the main train shed roof, the small train shed roof and all canopy roofs. The works undertaken by Clow Group Ltd. totaled more than ½ million pounds
